Decagon’s Product Engineering team builds the platform used to configure, train, test, and monitor AI agents across chat, voice, email, and SMS. You’ll own end-to-end features with product and design, ensuring scalable, reliable systems that customers can operate themselves.

You have 4+ years building software products, strong Python skills, and a talent for turning customer asks into clear specs. This in-office role in the San Francisco area emphasizes reliability and fast iteration.

Qualifications

• 4+ years building software products with strong product thinking.
• Proficient in Python and comfortable across the stack.
• Ability to translate complex capabilities into simple interfaces.
• Experience with asynchronous programming and scale failure modes.
• Strong debugging skills for deep technology stacks.
• Turn customer asks into clear, well-scoped specs.
• Judgment on when to ship fast vs build it right.
• Background with LLMs or AI agent systems (nice-to-have).
• Experience building developer tools or internal platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design and build systems for configuring, training, testing, and monitoring AI agents.
• Collaborate with product and design from discovery to launch.
• Own features end to end from architecture to deployment.
• Create self-serve configuration and balance power with simplicity.
• Build AI-powered tooling for CX/ops to manage agent workflows without code.
• Develop monitoring, tracing, and analytics to surface actionable signals.
