Job summary

Colgate-Palmolive is seeking an AI Platform Engineer in Piscataway, NJ, offering a hybrid work model. The role designs, builds, and operates secure, scalable platform services used to develop and run enterprise AI applications and agents.

You will implement governance, access controls, and API-driven tooling while collaborating with product teams to enable rapid, secure development across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software engineering, Cloud engineering, Information systems, Data engineering, AI, or related field
• Relevant cloud, Kubernetes, DevOps, SRE, security, data, or AI certifications
• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience with production services, APIs, or distributed systems
• Hands‑on experience designing, coding, testing, deploying, and operating shared production services
• Hands‑on proficiency with Python and at least one of TypeScript/Node.js, or Java

Responsibilities

• Design, code, test, deploy, and operate shared enterprise AI platform services that are secure, scalable, resilient, observable, and easy to consume by development teams
• Write production‑quality software for platform APIs, control‑plane services, data/event components, SDKs, libraries, and tooling
• Make sound software‑architecture decisions on service boundaries, interfaces, data models, concurrency, failure handling, performance, scalability, and backward compatibility
• Implement governed access to foundation models and providers through gateways, APIs, SDKs, routing, quotas, authentication, authorization, and policy controls
• Develop platform APIs, services, libraries, CLI tools, templates, and reference implementations using Python/TypeScript/Java
• Integrate identity, SSO, RBAC/ABAC, secrets management, network controls, data protection, and audit logging into platform services
• Build automated unit/integration/security/performance/resilience tests for platforms
• Create developer docs, onboarding flows, sample apps, runbooks, reference architectures, and reusable standards
• Evaluate emerging models/frameworks/runtimes/gateways and AI infrastructure against enterprise requirements
• Collaborate with product/app teams to improve developer experience while maintaining ownership boundaries
