Job summary

The AI Platform Engineer at Colgate-Palmolive is a hands-on software engineer who designs, builds, and operates the secure, scalable foundation used by teams to develop enterprise AI applications and agents. You will deliver production-quality platform services, APIs, governance, and tooling to accelerate cross-team AI initiatives.

This role spans platform services, cloud infrastructure, DevSecOps, and distributed systems with a focus on governance, reliability, and developer experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field relevant to software engineering or cloud engineering.
• Experience designing, coding, testing, deploying, and operating shared production services.
• Hands-on proficiency with Python and at least one other language (TypeScript/Node.js or Java).

Responsibilities

• Design, code, test, deploy, and operate shared enterprise AI platform services.
• Write production-quality software for platform APIs, control-plane services, and tooling.
• Make architecture decisions on service boundaries, data models, and scalability.
• Implement governed access to foundation models through gateways, APIs, and policy controls.
• Develop platform APIs, libraries, and deployment tooling; build tests and runbooks.
• Collaborate with security, cloud, data, and application teams to turn requirements into platform capabilities.
• Mentor engineers, set platform standards, and potentially lead shared platform capability delivery.
