Job summary

McGraw Hill is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer - Applied AI to advance our AI Platform.

You will design, build, and maintain AI-powered full-stack applications with a strong emphasis on generative AI, integration with LLMs, and robust deployment pipelines. You will mentor engineers, shape technical direction, and collaborate with data scientists and product teams to deliver secure, accessible, and scalable solutions across AWS/Azure, using modern stacks such as Python, Node.js, Angular/React,

Qualifications

• 4+ years of product or enterprise software development, including hands-on AI powered applications.
• Strong full-stack experience: Backend/API (Python, Node.js), Frontend (Angular/React).
• Experience with databases (SQL/NoSQL) and cloud (AWS/Azure).
• Hands-on with MCP, LLMs, LangChain, and RAG techniques.
• Proven ability to mentor engineers and influence architecture decisions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain AI platform and AI-powered tools/applications, scalable and reliable.
• Lead scoping, architecture, and implementation of cross-team solutions.
• Mentor junior/mid engineers through code reviews and design discussions.
• Collaborate with data scientists, PMs, and engineers to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Stay updated on AI advancements and integrate new capabilities.
• Ensure security, privacy compliance, and accessibility (WCAG 2.2 AA).
• Contribute to CI/CD and cloud infra optimization.
