Job summary

Jack Henry is hiring a Senior AI Engineer to bridge AI experimentation and production engineering in a hybrid role with onsite presence at one of several U.S. offices including Birmingham, AL.

You will own AI systems from prototypes to enterprise-ready solutions, collaborating with cybersecurity, cloud, and AI governance teams to ensure reliability, security, and scalability in production. The ideal candidate has deep experience in AI platforms, testing, and cross-functional leadership.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years of technical experience in software development.
• Production ownership of AI systems (AI agents, features in products, MCP servers).
• Experience with a major cloud environment (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
• Experience with unit testing and end-to-end automated testing.
• Experience with Kubernetes.
• Experience with any of the following: Large language models (LLM), vector databases.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% for meetings/training/conferences.
• Nice-to-have: GCP + infrastructure as code (Terraform).
• Nice-to-have: AI observability, evals, and model monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Performs and leads system analysis and programming to move AI proofs of concept to production-ready software.
• Provides technical/engineering support for new and existing applications from delivery to retirement.
• Develops, tests and reviews applications based on business requirements using best practices and agentic workflows.
• Reviews code and ensures changes consider end users and internal teams.
• Collaborates with security, cloud, architecture, and business teams to deliver enterprise-grade AI solutions.
• Leads cross-functional projects and defines timelines and scope.
