Job summary

Axon is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, AI Platform, to design, build, and scale its internal AI platform (Cortex) that supports thousands of Axon employees. You will own services, integrations with Jira, Quip, Slack, and Snowflake, and help define patterns for reliable AI-driven applications across cloud environments.

You’ll work hands-on on production systems, partner with Enterprise Data, and contribute to secure, observable, and cost‑efficient AI workloads using OpenAI or similar

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent
• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or Java
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Solid understanding of web services, APIs, observability and CI/CD
• Interest in AI/ML, LLMs, or GPT‑style apps
• Security fundamentals (secrets, least privilege, audit logs) and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Own core services and integrations powering AI experiences for Axon employees.
• Collaborate with Corporate AI, Data Engineering, and business teams to turn workflows into AI-powered tools.
• Define patterns for deploying AI-driven applications across Axon’s cloud environments.
• Maintain security, monitoring, and reliability for production AI services.
