Job summary

Axon is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Corporate AI Team to design, build, and scale the internal AI platform (Cortex). You will own core services, drive secure integrations with Jira, Quip, Slack, M365, Snowflake, and more, and collaborate with enterprise teams to deliver AI-powered workflows.

The role is hands-on, focusing on production systems, APIs, and patterns for AI deployment with a bias toward reliability and security in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in at least one of Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or Java
• Experience with major cloud providers (AWS/Azure/GCP) and cloud-native services
• Solid understanding of web services, APIs, authentication/authorization, observability, CI/CD
• Demonstrated interest in AI/ML and LLMs, integrating with AI APIs
• Basic understanding of security best practices (secrets management, least-privilege, audit logging) and eagerness to deepen this in AI platforms
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in a fast-moving environment

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve AI platform services powering AI experiences for Axon employees
• Design, build, and operate APIs and connectors for Cortex and enterprise integrations
• Define patterns for deploying AI-driven applications across Axon cloud environments
• Monitor reliability, latency, and cost for AI workloads with telemetry and feedback
• Lead end-to-end lifecycle of AI features from prototype to production
• Collaborate with Data Engineering and Architecture to shape reference architectures
