Job summary

GEICO is building a scalable AI agent platform and needs a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and operate core backend components. You will own significant platform features, guide architecture, and work across the stack with product managers and data scientists. Strong backend, distributed systems, and GenAI experience are key.

You will contribute to durability, observability, and on‑call reliability while collaborating with teams to deliver scalable solutions for millions of customers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production backend systems at scale.
• Experience owning the design and delivery of services end to end.
• Strong proficiency in Python, Java, or Go.
• Strong distributed systems fundamentals and API design.
• Experience with CI/CD and Kubernetes in production.
• Hands-on operational experience including observability and on-call responsibilities.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and delivery of significant platform components end to end, from technical design through implementation and rollout.
• Write design docs, participate in reviews, and make sound tradeoffs.
• Mentor engineers and raise the engineering bar on the team.
• Collaborate with product managers and data scientists to translate workflow needs into platform features.
• Operate production health with SLIs/SLOs, dashboards, and alerts.
