Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Sr. Staff AI Engineer to advance responsible, scalable AI systems in a remote-eligible role. You will collaborate with engineers, researchers, and product managers to build AI-powered banking experiences using a broad stack (AWS, HuggingFace, PyTorch).

You will push state-of-the-art optimization, governance, and observability across Capital One's AI platforms. You will mentor teams, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and help shape the long-term AI architecture

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s in CS/AI/Engineering with extensive AI/ML experience.
• 10+ years programming AI/ML algorithms or related tech.
• 10+ years Python/Go/Scala/CUDA/Java development experience.
• Experience architecting scalable AI platforms and leading teams.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components.
• Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI tools like AWS, HuggingFace, PyTorch.
• Optimize foundation models for performance, cost, latency and scale.
• Define the technical AI architecture and long-term roadmap.
• Mentor senior technical leaders and guide governance standards.
