Job summary

Verizon is seeking a Principal Architect for its Enterprise AI Platform to provide technical leadership across a comprehensive 5-layer architecture. You will drive architectural coherence, ADRs, ARB submissions, and multi-cloud strategy with GCP and AWS, ensuring token visibility for FinOps.

The candidate should have 6+ years in software or platform architecture, deep LLM expertise, Kubernetes at enterprise scale, and a track record delivering ADRs to executives. Hybrid work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant experience.
• Experience in software/platform architecture with AI/ML systems.
• System-level architect with ADRs and reference architectures.
• Experience with agentic development and LangGraph/ADK.
• Distributed systems experience: API gateways, multi-tenancy, data isolation.
• Enterprise-scale Kubernetes experience.
• LLM architecture knowledge: transformers, KV-cache, context windows, token economics.
• Experience with multi-cloud (GCP/AWS).
• API platform design: OpenAI-compatible interfaces, SDKs.
• Experience presenting architecture to VP/SVP leadership.

Responsibilities

• Direct the 5-layer architecture stack with scalable interfaces and contractions.
• Define API conventions, security patterns, and observability standards.
• Lead build-vs-buy analyses and 3-year TCO modeling; multi-cloud strategy.
• Design enterprise security, governance, and RAI guardrail architectures.
• Collaborate with exec and cloud partners to drive architectural maturity.
