Job summary

Verizon is seeking a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff to architect and build the applied AI layer behind our autonomous network. You will own Gen AI-powered system design spanning LLMs, RAG, and agentic frameworks across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, while ensuring secure, scalable production deployments.

The role emphasizes leading technical teams, mentoring engineers, and delivering AI solutions from data center to edge in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or four+ years of work experience in a related field.
• Eight+ years of relevant experience in AI, cloud, or systems architecture.
• Strong familiarity with Gen AI concepts: LLMs, RAG, embeddings, and agentic AI.
• Proven experience deploying cloud solutions across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Experience with on-prem AI inference at edge and secure AI governance.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy Gen AI solutions on Verizon's Gen AI platform.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate use cases into AI solutions.
• Evaluate and integrate LLMs, RAG, prompts, fine-tuning, and agentic frameworks.
• Architect AI workloads across AWS, Azure, and GCP for performance and cost.
• Mentor engineers and establish governance, security, and evaluation practices.
• Lead responsible AI practices and drive innovative AI adoption.
