Job summary

Improvado is seeking a Principal Engineer to set the technical direction for AI-assisted engineering on the Platform Team. You will own the core Python-based data extraction and load infrastructure, and drive the integration of agentic coding and LLM tooling into our delivery process without compromising reliability.

This hands-on role involves coding, architecture reviews, and mentoring engineers while shaping how we scale AI-native infrastructure across 500+ integrations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years backend engineering with production systems ownership.
• At least 2 years in a principal/architect role.
• Experience designing scalable, reliable systems.
• Hands-on with AI-assisted development and guardrails.
• Strong distributed systems background.

Responsibilities

• Own platform architecture for data extraction, load, and pipelines serving 500+ integrations.
• Drive modernization of legacy systems into AI-native infrastructure.
• Define agentic development frameworks and oversee AI-assisted development lifecycle.
• Mentor engineers and set standards for code quality and reliability.
• Collaborate with product and AI teams on rollout and new capabilities.
