Job summary

Autodesk is seeking a Principal Software Developer to design and implement AI features for the platform. You will collaborate with product managers, developers and operations to shape the platform roadmap and deliver robust AI-enabled software.

You will drive API design, review code, and mentor teammates while focusing on scalability, security and maintainability to support a high‑volume production environment.

Qualifications

• 5 years of professional API development with Python or Node.js.
• Experience with AI Agent tools & frameworks.
• Experience building and integrating MCP tools.
• Strong knowledge of REST API standards, Graph and web services.
• Ability to translate requirements into reusable modules.
• Proven debugging, troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, test, debug and document components to meet business and quality needs.
• Drive and participate in code and document reviews; mentor team in best practices.
• Interpret business needs into technical requirements and accurate estimates.
• Evaluate tools, technologies and processes to ensure high quality and performance.
• Collaborate to troubleshoot code-level problems quickly and efficiently.
• Apply deep technical expertise to resolve challenging programming and design problems.
• Focus on scalability, security and availability of all applications and processes.
• Contribute to design and architecture to enable secure, scalable, maintainable software.
• Contribute to risk identification/mitigation and to technical roadmap and debt elimination.
