Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in the United States seeks a Senior Associate Applied AI/ML Scientist to advance AI/ML capabilities in Payments, enhancing fraud detection and processes. You will build scalable data pipelines, explore AI techniques, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business value.

The role emphasizes research, experimentation and deployment of ML models, with focus on reliability, latency, and regulatory compliance across the payments ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline with minimum 3 years of experience.
• Experience with Shell scripting, Jupyter notebook/Lab, SQL, PySpark and AWS Cloud Services is required.
• Proficiency in Python and ML/DL frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) with NumPy, Scikit-Learn and Pandas.
• Extensive knowledge of NLP/LLM, or CV and other ML techniques including classification and regression.
• Ability to translate complex business problems into structured analytical plans and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product, Technology and cross-functional teams to define data-driven AI/ML solutions.
• Design, develop and deploy agentic systems using LLMs and other AI tech meeting business metrics.
• Partner with Risk and Compliance to ensure model documentation, metrics and regulatory adherence.
• Translate model outcomes into business impact metrics for senior management.
