Job summary

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina is seeking a senior AI/ML scientist to lead transformational GenAI initiatives, turning data into strategic decisions. You will own end-to-end ML/DL/GenAI pipelines, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and translate business needs into deployable AI solutions.

The role requires strong statistical, software engineering, and data science expertise, with a track record of production-ready AI systems and continuous improvement through experimentation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree.
• 5+ years of experience in related field.
• In lieu of degree, 7+ years of experience in related field.

Responsibilities

• Own delivery of ML, DL, and GenAI systems with self-learning capabilities.
• Design, implement, and evaluate AI systems for production environments.
• Apply prescriptive analytics techniques to business problems.
• Lead development and testing of ML algorithms, run experiments, analyze data, optimize models.
• Stay updated with AI advancements and adapt methods to business problems.
• Benchmark against existing ML methods and analyze results for improvements.
• Develop prototypes and PoCs to demonstrate AI feasibility.
• Lead sessions with business partners to distill needs and guide AI approaches.
• Drive continuous improvement by experimenting with novel techniques.
• Apply software engineering principles to construct sophisticated ML models.
• Identify actionable insights and communicate results to cross-functional groups.
