Job summary

Vanguard is seeking a Senior Data Scientist/AI Lead in Malvern to steer AI initiatives across conversational AI, NLP, and generative models. You will guide solution design, evaluation, and deployment while mentoring junior team members.

You will collaborate with Product, Engineering, Risk, and Analytics to translate business problems into measurable AI outcomes, establishing standards for observability and responsible AI practices.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Data Science/AI experience with leadership experience.
• Strong foundation in ML including validation, experimentation, and performance measurement.
• Expertise in NLP and Generative AI, transformer architectures, embeddings, LLMs and prompting.

Responsibilities

• Lead traditional and agentic AI/ML solutions across NLP, classification, and retrieval-based systems.
• Drive AI lifecycle from problem formulation to deployment readiness and production monitoring.
• Mentor and develop junior data scientists and analysts; influence cross-functional teams.
