Job summary

JPMorgan Chase invites you to join as Senior Director of Software Engineering in the Machine Learning and Intelligent Operations group, where you will lead multiple technical areas and align departments toward ambitious ML, AI, and agentic initiatives.

You will mentor high-performing teams of data scientists, ML engineers, and AI researchers, shape governance and best practices, and partner with senior leaders to keep the firm at the forefront of innovation and responsible AI.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on ML/AI/LLM and 10+ years of applied experience.
• 5+ years of experience leading technologists and cross-functional teams.
• Experience with hiring and developing talent in diverse environments.
• Extensive cloud native experience and ML/MLOps expertise.
• Advanced degree in CS/ML/AI or related field.
• Deep expertise in LLM architectures and RAG.
• Strong knowledge of search technologies and knowledge management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to present strategic recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Lead technology and process implementations across departments in ML, LLMs, search, and agentic systems.
• Direct strategic initiatives for development, deployment, and monitoring of ML/AI solutions.
• Provide leadership to cross-functional teams across ideation to production.
• Interface with senior leaders to drive consensus on intelligent operations.
• Manage stakeholders and projects with best practices in model governance and privacy.
• Influence leaders to foster innovation and operational excellence.
• Develop high-performing teams of data scientists, ML engineers, and AI researchers.
