Job summary

Bain & Company is building a cutting-edge PEG Innovation team focused on data and software solutions for private equity clients. The Senior ML Engineer role centers on developing the ingestion, embedding, and retrieval pipelines powering production RAG and ML systems.

You will collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and the Agent / AI squad, shipping reliable code from week one while growing ownership through demonstrated impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/engineering/ML.
• 2+ years building software, data, or ML systems.
• Exposure to model deployment, serving, or monitoring is a plus.
• Experience with Python and cloud environments (Databricks, Azure, AWS).
• Proven ability to ship tested, production-ready code with reviews.

Responsibilities

• Core ML and data pipeline engineering: build/maintain data and ML pipelines, embeddings and indexing.
• Collaborate with data engineers/scientists and the AI squad on tasks in larger workstreams.
• Other responsibilities include writing tests, improving observability, and contributing to docs.
