Job summary

Ahold Delhaize USA is seeking an AI/ML Engineer III to build and deploy ML models, implement training and evaluation workflows, and support integration of AI into production environments.

This flexible role features a hybrid schedule with 3 in-person days at core locations Salisbury, NC, Chicago, IL or Quincy, MA, and 2 remote days. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field required; equivalent advanced experience in applied data science may be considered.
• 5+ years of AI/ML engineering experience.
• Strong experience with Python, ML libraries, and model evaluation techniques.
• Understanding of deep learning and generative AI fundamentals.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and deploy ML models using established architectures and frameworks.
• Support feature engineering, data preprocessing, and model evaluation.
• Assist in developing automated ML training and monitoring pipelines.
• Collaborate with engineering and product partners to refine AI solution requirements.
• Research tools and methods to enhance model performance.
• May be called upon to support critical escalations and must be available during urgent IT incidents as needed.
