Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Senior AI/ML Engineer for Optum Technology to lead enterprise-scale AI initiatives. You will design and deploy scalable AI/ML systems, collaborate with data scientists and engineers, and drive responsible AI across cloud and containerized environments.

You will mentor engineers, contribute to architecture reviews, and advance MLOps practices, CI/CD, and production observability in a fast-paced healthcare tech setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of software or data engineering experience.
• 3+ years focused on AI/ML solution engineering and deployment.
• 3+ years Python, SQL, and enterprise software practices.
• 3+ years with ML frameworks like scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
• 3+ years Databricks/Spark/PySpark on cloud platforms.
• 2+ years building Generative AI and LLM solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions with responsible AI.
• Leverage enterprise AI tools and software engineering best practices.
• Evaluate emerging trends to inform design and architecture.
• Design end-to-end AI/ML architectures for scalable use cases.
