Job summary

Swingtech seeks a Senior AI/ML Engineer to provide hands‑on leadership across AI solution architecture, data engineering, AI/ML development, and production deployment for one or more DOL component agencies.

You will guide technical stakeholders, design secure, scalable AI systems, and drive responsible AI practices across lifecycle activities including TEVV, model evaluation, and masking governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a closely related technical field; master’s degree preferred.
• 7+ years of hands‑on AI/ML engineering, software/data/cloud/enterprise architecture.
• 2+ years delivering generative AI, LLM integration, RAG, agentic AI, production ML systems.
• Experience architecting and delivering secure enterprise or Federal AI solutions.
• Experience with AI model integration, APIs, data pipelines, vector databases, retrieval systems, CI/CD, monitoring, and MLOps.
• Knowledge of FISMA, NIST 800‑series guidance, FedRAMP, FIPS, accessibility, and ATO processes.
• Ability to advise both technical and nontechnical stakeholders across AI, data, applications, UX, security, and program‑management disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Lead AI solution architecture, design, and deployment for DOL agency solutions.
• Translate agency needs into AI use cases, designs, and production‑ready capabilities.
• Design and implement AI/ML systems using traditional ML, NLP, generative AI, RAG, and multi‑agent workflows.
• Define reusable architecture patterns, standards, evaluation methods, and secure integration patterns.
• Lead discovery, data readiness, privacy/security impact, and Responsible AI assessments.
• Architect secure, scalable AI solutions on Government‑approved cloud platforms and CI/CD pipelines.
• Lead TEVV activities addressing accuracy, retrieval quality, bias, explainability, and resilience.
• Ensure datasets are separated, versioned, and access controlled.
• Implement model versioning, experiment tracking, monitoring, drift detection, and retraining controls.
• Support AI risk assessments, model cards, and RAIA packaging.
• Support security, privacy, Section 508 accessibility, ATO, and architecture reviews.
• Maintain source code, configs, docs, runbooks, and release records in government repositories.
• Serve as technical liaison to agency stakeholders and delivery teams.
• Provide peer review, technical coaching, and escalation support.
