Job summary

Groundswell, a premier technology integrator, seeks an engineer to turn ambiguous business problems into working AI solutions. You will own the full lifecycle from discovery to production, balancing accuracy, cost, latency, and security. You’ll mentor peers and push reusable patterns across engagements.

You will lead cross-functional collaboration with engineers, executives, and end users, shaping roadmaps and validating implementations with real data and measurable success criteria.

Qualifications

• 7+ years building and shipping production software.
• At least 2 years hands-on experience with LLM-based applications (prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, structured extraction).
• Experience evaluating AI quality: tests, metrics, deployment decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead client-facing discovery with stakeholders to understand workflow and success criteria.
• Define measurable success criteria before building, including accuracy targets and failure definitions.
• Advise against AI when simpler solutions suffice (rules, process changes, interfaces).
• Select AI pattern appropriate to problem (extraction, classification, summarization, retrieval, agent).
• Design architecture decisions for where workloads run considering quality, cost, latency, security, and authorization.
• Build complete solution including prompts, retrieval, API integration, data handling and UI.
