Job summary

FAR.AI is seeking a Senior Media Strategist to own our earned media, shape the public understanding of AI risk, and drive coverage in press, podcasts and newsletters. You will translate research findings into news angles and manage reporter relationships across outlets.

You’ll prepare researchers to be effective spokespeople, write pitches and op-eds, and set clear goals for each release while working with leadership on high-stakes communications in a fast-moving field.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in media relations, press strategy or journalism.

Responsibilities

• Own FAR.AI's earned media strategy and plan for research releases, events and announcements.
• Decide which findings are news and which outlets to approach; frame them with researchers and leadership.
• Build and maintain relationships with reporters covering AI and AI policy at national and international outlets.
• Manage judgment calls on publishing safety issues in frontier models and respond to pushback or pre-emption.
• Own researcher and leadership media training, including message development and mock interviews.
