Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in communications, ideally at a high-growth technology company with consumer facing products.
• Proven track record of building proactive communications campaigns that resonate with diverse audiences.
• Strong ability to translate complex technical language into compelling messaging for everyday users.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with media relations and issues management experience.
• Experience collaborating with research teams and cross-functional technical/non-technical groups.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute communication strategies explaining the Safeguards work, with emphasis on accessibility for everyday users.
• Plan for crisis communications and advise stakeholders on risks and issues.
• Own comms strategy for product safety work, including new model launches and features in harm areas like child safety and wellbeing.
• Lead cross-functional projects aligning safeguards, research, product, policy, and legal teams around messaging and campaigns.
• Craft messaging for major announcements resonating with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Build relationships with journalists and influencers and oversee executive interviews and speaking engagements.
