Job summary

Relativity in Washington, DC, seeks a Senior Counsel to lead AI, product development, and legal technology initiatives. You will advise on AI regulatory matters, software licensing, privacy, and policy development to guide the company’s use of advanced technologies.

This role partners with Engineering, Product, Marketing, and Strategy to navigate complex legal issues, draft key agreements, and enable rapid, compliant growth of AI-enabled offerings.

Qualifications

• Six (6) or more years of relevant experience in-house and/or at a law firm supporting technology initiatives, including AI, data, and tech issues.
• Experience with software development, open source licensing, OSI-approved licenses, API terms, SaaS agreements, and platform policies.
• JD degree from an accredited law school and US bar admission.
• Strong understanding of technology, AI, and regulatory considerations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead legal representative for enterprise AI, product development, marketing and legal technology.
• Provide creative, strategic legal advice on commercial, operational and strategic issues.
• Coordinate with Product, Marketing, Customer Success and Strategy teams to enable growth and manage risk.
• Draft and negotiate agreements, terms, and documentation supporting AI initiatives.
