Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC in Washington, DC area seeks a Sr. Network Engineer for AI infrastructure (Starshield) to lead the data center network design and deployment supporting national security missions.

You will design high-speed connectivity for AI clusters, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with hardware, software, and ML teams to improve reliability and security. A Top Secret/SCI clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering discipline with 5+ years of networking experience.
• Alternatively 7+ years of networking experience in lieu of a degree.
• 5+ years of networking experience deploying enterprise or cloud/GPU networks.
• Layer-1 experience with transport, DWDM, optical fiber and related troubleshooting.
• Hands-on deployment experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and hardware.

Responsibilities

• Manage network infrastructure and deployments to Top Secret data centers.
• Design, validate, and productize high-speed copper and optical connectivity for AI clusters.
• Collaborate with ML training teams to translate workload patterns into interconnect topology requirements.
• Contribute to tools for rapid deployments (ZTP/custom provisioning).
• Improve network performance and reliability via metrics, capacity planning, and remediation.
• Lead network integration and troubleshooting efforts.
• Mentor junior network engineers and drive technical excellence.
