Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Sr. Network Engineer for AI infrastructure (Starshield). You will design, deploy, and secure the data center network supporting national security missions and AI clusters. Responsibilities include optimization, monitoring, and tool development.

You will lead deployments, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate across hardware, software, and network teams to ensure peak reliability and performance. A TS clearance and domestic travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering discipline or related field.
• 5+ years of professional networking experience deploying enterprise network solutions or cloud/web-scale networks.
• Layer-1 experience including transport, DWDM, optical fiber and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on deployment experience with networking hardware (routers, switches, firewalls).
• Experience with network security functions and ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage network infrastructure for Top Secret data centers.
• Design and validate high-speed connectivity for AI clusters (100k+ GPU scale).
• Collaborate with ML teams to map workload patterns to interconnect topology.
• Contribute to deployment tools and rapid provisioning.
• Improve network performance via capacity planning and remediation.
• Lead network integration and troubleshooting efforts.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and network engineers to improve design.
• Update system configurations and firmware as needed.
• Build automation for network devices and deployment tools.
• Mentor junior network engineers and drive technical excellence.
