Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC in the United States is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer, AI Infrastructure (Starshield) to design, operate and scale AI/GPU infrastructure for the Starshield constellation, including on-prem Kubernetes clusters and high-availability systems.

You will collaborate with AI engineers, mentor juniors, and drive lifecycle of services from inception to deployment, with Top Secret/Sci clearance required and potential travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or engineering with 5+ years Linux/SRE experience.
• 5+ years Kubernetes experience.
• 5+ years Linux OS management experience.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or infrastructure tools.
• Experience with containerization (OCI/Kubernetes).
• Scripting in Bash or Python; development in Python/C++/Go.

Responsibilities

• Manage GPU/CPU infra deployments in Top Secret data centers.
• Provide GPU-as-a-service for external customers on bare metal and virtual platforms.
• Design and productize AI cluster solutions (100k+ GPUs).
• Develop automation to deploy on-prem Kubernetes/AI clusters and OSes.
• Deploy core infra including DBs, monitoring, and storage.
• Collaborate with AI engineers to build scalable products.
• Oversee the service lifecycle from design to operation.
• Ensure high availability via monitoring and alerting.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead the team to technical excellence.
