Job summary

Bechtel is seeking an AI Governance Manager to build and lead the enterprise AI governance capability. You will collaborate with Legal, Risk, Privacy, and IT to ensure ethical, safe, and compliant use of AI across EPC and related business processes globally.

The role requires hands-on leadership in a part-time telework arrangement, with in-office presence in Reston, VA three days per week, and no relocation offered. US citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with extensive governance/AI experience
• Experience establishing enterprise governance, risk, or control programs
• Ability to translate risk findings into proportionate mitigations and audit-ready records

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operation of the enterprise AI governance program and maintain its framework and standards
• Run AI intake, review, approval, and monitoring workflow across the enterprise
• Coordinate AI impact assessments with Legal, Privacy, Security, Risk Management, and engineering safety teams
• Define review criteria and controls for generative AI assistants and AI agents
• Monitor and report governance metrics, risk posture, and maturity to leadership
• Deliver AI governance and responsible-AI training for users, developers, and leaders
• Lead a small governance team and secure cross-functional support
