Job summary

Eaton is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, AI Governance, to design and build AI-native platforms for internal use. You will lead a pod of three engineers, write production code, and set engineering standards while collaborating with Cyber, Legal, Privacy, and Responsible AI teams.

You will contribute to AI Control Tower, AI Funnel, and FinOps tooling, ensuring scalable, secure, and auditable AI systems across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years hands‑on building LLM/agent-based systems.
• No relocation; reside within 50 miles of a US Eaton location.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical direction and engineering practices for the pod as a hands-on IC.
• Design, build, and run AI Control Tower, AgentOps, AI Funnel, and AI FinOps capabilities.
• Engineer observability, monitoring, and security across Eaton's AI estate.
• Develop AI-native patterns: LLM apps, agents, RAG, and automated workflows.
• Translate policy and risk requirements into working software in collaboration with Cyber, Legal, Privacy, and Oversight.
• Own architecture for complex systems and define non-functional requirements (scalability, reliability, cost).
• Manage LLM lifecycle: prompt versioning, evaluation, drift monitoring, and quality scoring.
