Job summary

Eaton is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, AI Governance, to design and build AI-native applications and platforms for internal use. You will lead the technical direction of the AI-Native Software Engineering pod, mentor three engineers, and collaborate with AI Architects, Cyber, Legal, Privacy and Responsible AI to turn policy into working software.

The role focuses on AI Control Tower, AgentOps, AI Funnel, and AI FinOps tooling, with hands-on coding, standards setting, and end-to-end

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 10+ years of software engineering with 3+ years building LLM/agent systems.
• Must reside within 50 miles of a US Eaton location.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction and engineering practices as a hands-on IC.
• Design, build, and run AI Control Tower, AgentOps, AI Funnel, and AI FinOps capabilities.
• Engineer observability, monitoring, and compliance across AI estate.
• Build with AI-native patterns: LLM apps, agents, RAG, automated workflows.
• Translate AI policy and risk requirements into working software with cross‑functional partners.
• Own architecture for complex, integrated systems and non‑functional requirements.
• Manage LLM lifecycle: versioning, eval design, drift monitoring.
• Optimize token, credit, and cloud consumption; cost attribution.
• Ingest telemetry into AI Asset Catalog and Control Tower.
• Provide dotted-line technical leadership to three engineers.
