Job summary

Rippling is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Backend Full Stack, to advance Rippling AI. You will own end‑to‑end tech initiatives, from backend infrastructure to user‑facing AI surfaces, collaborating with product, infra, and design to deliver scalable, observable, and trustworthy experiences.

You will contribute hands‑on across the stack, mentor peers, and help push platform capabilities as Rippling builds autonomous enterprise AI features for a broad set of customers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience delivering complex full‑stack projects.
• Strong platform and distributed systems engineering experience.
• Proficiency in React/TypeScript for polished frontend experiences.
• Hands‑on coding across backend and frontend.
• Experience driving cross‑team initiatives from infra to UI.
• Strong product instincts and ability to translate problems into platform capabilities.
• Clear communication with diverse audiences.
• Comfort with ambiguity and high velocity.
• Experience with AI agents or AI‑powered interfaces is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end technical design and implementation for AI platform initiatives.
• Build scalable agent infrastructure to automate high‑frequency workflows.
• Design and implement user‑facing AI experiences that are observable and trustworthy.
• Develop platform capabilities encoding business logic into automated workflows.
• Build frontend components for AI surfaces like chat interfaces and dashboards.
• Collaborate across product, infra, and platform teams to deliver cohesive experiences.
• Design observable, self‑correcting systems that improve over time.
• Partner with Product and Design to ensure trustworthy, controllable AI surfaces.
• Mentor junior engineers and raise technical standards.
• Translate model improvements into architectural and UX decisions.
