Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Senior Data Scientist for the AI Foundations team to design and deploy AI-powered features across the bank’s mobile app. You will work with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to operationalize NLP and ML models at scale for 80+ million customers.

You will leverage PyTorch, AWS, Hugging Face, LangChain, and VectorDBs, and will be instrumental in advancing state-of-the-art NLP and generative AI capabilities across Capital One’s platforms.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in STEM required or in progress with expected degree date
• 2+ years of Python/Scala/R experience required
• 2+ years of ML experience required
• 2+ years of SQL experience required
• AWS experience preferred, cloud platforms familiarity beneficial

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional data scientists, software engineers, ML engineers and product managers to deliver AI-powered products
• Leverage PyTorch, AWS Ultraclusters, Hugging Face, LangChain, Lightning, VectorDBs to extract insights from large datasets
• Lead NLP initiatives with LLMs, fine-tuning for customer-facing apps
• Develop ML and NLP models from design through training, evaluation, and deployment at scale
• Translate complex models and results into tangible business impact
