Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Principal Data Scientist, AI Foundations, to drive AI-powered features across Capital One’s mobile app and services. You will partner with data scientists, engineers, and product managers to build scalable NLP and ML solutions that transform how customers interact with their money.

You will work with a broad stack including PyTorch, AWS Ultraclusters, Hugging Face, LangChain, and VectorDBs, and lead the deployment of models that serve millions of customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field plus 5 years of data analytics experience or
• Master’s degree in a quantitative field or MBA with quantitative concentration plus 3 years of data analytics experience or
• PhD in a quantitative field

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products for customers.
• Leverage technologies like PyTorch, AWS Ultraclusters, Hugging Face, LangChain, and VectorDBs to extract insights from large datasets.
• Lead NLP efforts to harness Large Language Models and adapt them for customer-facing applications.
• Develop ML and NLP models from design to production, working with engineers to scale deployments.
• Translate complex work into clear business objectives for stakeholders.
