Job summary

Carnival Cruise Line is seeking a Principal AI Forward Deployed Engineer to embed with business units and rapidly prototype, deploy, and operationalize AI solutions across shipboard and shoreside environments.

You will lead end-to-end AI application development, design robust APIs, and manage containerized deployments with Docker and Kubernetes, delivering measurable business impact at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science or related field.
• 6–8+ years of software engineering experience.
• 4+ years deploying AI/ML solutions in production environments.
• Led/architected 3+ production AI systems.

Responsibilities

• AI Application Development & Deployment: Architect, build, and deploy enterprise-grade AI-powered applications using modern backend technologies (Python, Node.js, FastAPI, Express).
• Rapid Prototyping & Problem Discovery: Deconstruct ambiguous business problems into actionable AI solutions and establish production-ready pipelines.
• Stakeholder Engagement & Technical Translation: Communicate architecture decisions and trade-offs to executives and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment.
• Field Insights & Platform Feedback: Capture field learnings to drive platform improvements and establish best practices across AI deployments.
