BMC Software, Inc. is seeking a Principal AI-First Product Manager to lead the AMI Platform’s AI capabilities. You will drive strategy across mainframe operations, data, development, and security, turning generative AI insights into scalable, trusted products.

This senior role requires a proven track record in delivering complex AI-enabled products from discovery through launch and adoption in enterprise environments.

Qualifications

• Extensive product-management experience in enterprise software.
• Proven ownership of AI, generative AI, or agentic AI products.
• Strong working knowledge of LLM-based systems, RAG and knowledge grounding.
• Understanding of data quality, permissions, metadata, telemetry, and knowledge architecture.
• Track record translating ambiguous customer problems into strategy, roadmaps and measurable outcomes.
• Experience taking 0-to-1 products from discovery through launch and adoption.
• Excellent customer discovery, analytical, prioritization, and executive communication skills.
• Ability to influence Engineering, Architecture, UX, Security, GTM, and senior leaders without formal authority.
• Strong commercial judgment, including business cases, market analysis, and pricing inputs.
• Comfort in enterprise environments with trust, security, and governance.

Responsibilities

• Define a clear product strategy and roadmap connecting AMI Platform investments to customer outcomes.
• Lead customer discovery with mainframe leaders and AI stakeholders; turn insights into validated problems and bets.
• Shape AI-native experiences including agents, coordinated workflows, and tool use.
• Partner with Engineering, UX, Data Science, Security, and SRE to deliver scalable platform capabilities.
• Define measurable success across user value, trust, adoption, latency, and cost.
• Set requirements for governance, RBAC, auditability, and human-in-the-loop controls.
• Drive 0-to-1 and MVP development with hypotheses, prototypes, and design partners.
• Balance common platform capabilities with domain-specific needs for practical value.
• Develop business cases, packaging, pricing inputs, and adoption plans for new AI capabilities.
• Represent strategy to executives, customers, analysts, and Sales with a clear narrative.
• Mentor product managers and raise AI-first practices across teams.
