Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Sr. Manager, AI Engineer in Cambridge, MA to lead and scale AI systems across multiple teams. You will partner with engineers, researchers, PMs, and program managers to deliver AI-powered banking experiences at scale.

You will guide foundation model optimization, model evaluation, and governance, while nurturing top talent and driving professional development. This role emphasizes responsible AI and collaboration with Research, Data, and Platform teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 6+ years' AI/ML experience or Master's with 4+ years.
• At least 1 year of people leadership experience.
• Experience deploying scalable and responsible AI on cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products.
• Oversee design, development, testing, deployment and support of AI software.
• Make build-vs-buy decisions across Open Source and SaaS AI tech.
• Invent optimization techniques to improve performance, cost, latency.
• Contribute to long-term roadmaps for foundational AI systems.
• Mentor and develop team members; foster a learning culture.
• Operationalize Responsible AI with gates, docs, and governance.
