Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Staff AI Engineer to design, build, and deploy AI-powered products across the company. You will work with engineers, researchers, PMs, and program managers to deliver scalable AI software that improves customer experiences and internal workflows.

You’ll lead model optimization, deployment, observability, and governance, while driving best practices for responsible AI and cost-efficiency at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field with several years of AI/ML experience.
• Experience designing and deploying AI systems at scale.
• Strong programming abilities across Python, Go, Scala, CUDA, or Java.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components including foundation model training, large language model inference, agents and multi-agent workflows, and governance.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products used by customers and associates.
• Champion responsible AI principles including transparency, reproducibility, and fairness-by-design.
