Job summary

Avalon Healthcare Solutions is seeking an AI Engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable AI-powered solutions. You will own complex AI features from concept to production, evaluating models and building reliable pipelines. Remote work is allowed with quarterly travel to Tampa, FL.

You will collaborate with Product, Design, and Data teams, mentor engineers, and help shape Avalon’s AI strategy while ensuring secure, maintainable, and scalable systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, CS, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 8–10 years of application software development experience including hands-on with LLMs and AI tooling.
• Strong proficiency in Python, Rust, GoLang, and Node.js/TypeScript with JVM knowledge.
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs and agent frameworks.
• Experience mapping workflows and building automations in n8n or similar tools.
• Experience with Docker, AWS, and vector databases.

Responsibilities

• Designs AI-enabled solutions and architectures that deliver measurable business value.
• Leads cross-functional AI initiatives with Product, Design, and Data teams.
• Mentors junior engineers and promotes best practices in AI development.
• Develops modular code using SQL and vector data sources and reusable components.
• Ensures observability, testing, and guardrails for AI systems.
• Contributes to SDLC with CI/CD, TDD, and evaluation-driven development.
