Job summary

Decca Consulting is seeking an Artificial Intelligence Engineer III for a fully remote role. You will design, deliver, and own complex production-grade AI systems addressing high-impact problems. This role applies advanced software, data science, ML, and LLM engineering to build AI-powered applications and intelligent workflows.

The AI Engineer III operates with autonomy, making architectural decisions while ensuring reliability, security, and enterprise alignment with AI standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent.
• Five or more years of professional experience spanning software engineering, data science, ML engineering, or AI system development.
• Advanced proficiency in software engineering including Python, APIs, testing, and system design.
• Hands-on experience with large-scale data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, or Synapse.
• Strong knowledge of ML/AI concepts, evaluation techniques, and failure modes.
• Experience deploying LLM-based systems using enterprise-grade platforms and frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Designs and owns end-to-end AI solutions, including LLM-based apps and ML models.
• Builds and operates complex AI systems like agentic workflows and RAG platforms.
• Evaluates business problems and selects AI patterns and architectures.
• Defines evaluation strategies, metrics, and feedback loops for model impact.
• Leads data pipelines, feature strategies, and evaluation datasets for AI systems.
• Owns production readiness including performance, reliability, and cost.
• Identifies and mitigates bias, data leakage, and unintended AI behavior.
• Collaborates with product management and stakeholders to guide design and delivery.
• Mentors teammates and contributes to AI engineering standards.
