Job summary

Transamerica is expanding its Core AI team to accelerate AI-driven transformation across our business. We seek an experienced Associate Principal AI Engineer to evolve AI platform capabilities, develop AI services, and support AI adoption across global operations.

You will contribute to the Launchpad platform, mentor teams, and apply AWS AI services and Gen AI frameworks. This hybrid role requires three days in office weekly at one of our hub locations, including Denver.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, data science, or a related field.
• 10+ years related experience with at least 3 years in end-to-end AI solution design.
• Professional certifications in AI and / or cloud technologies.
• Strong proficiency in Python for production ready delivery.
• Deep understanding of Gen AI landscape and agentic frameworks (Strands SDK, LangChain, A2A, MCP).
• Experience in full model lifecycle – planning, training, deploying and maintaining AI systems.
• Good knowledge of AWS AI Infrastructure and AI services.
• Proficiency in containerization and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience with diverse stakeholders to deliver AI solutions.

Responsibilities

• Contribute enhancements to AWS Launchpad and related services.
• Support Launchpad onboarding of internal development teams.
• Apply Python to build production-ready Gen AI and Agentic AI solutions (AWS AgentCore).
• Translate complex problems into well-defined project requirements.
• Lead AI development teams under supervision following software delivery lifecycle.
• Apply AWS AI knowledge to select components and services for business problems.
• Evolve AI governance and operational processes.
• Share ideas and drive AI adoption across the organization.
