Job summary

The Hartford is seeking a Principal AI Engineer to build our AI platform, accelerating GenAI use cases and driving innovation at scale. You will act as a thought partner to platform leadership and deliver scalable, secure, self-service capabilities for enterprise use.

You will bring hands-on data, analytics, MLOps/LLMOps expertise, collaborate across Architecture, Cloud, and Security, and mentor engineers in a fast-paced environment with hybrid or remote options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a technical field.
• 10+ years of experience with cloud (AWS / GCP).
• Extensive programming experience with Python, Typescript.
• At least 8 years of experience designing and building data-intensive solutions using distributed computing.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and services for AI / generative AI.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the vision and roadmap for AI platform.
• Drive the future state of the AI platform with latest trends.
• Lead POCs and prototypes for AI platform solutions.
• Provide hands-on engineering support for platform capabilities.
• Partner with Architecture, Cloud, Security to design platform solutions.
• Collaborate with DS team to develop self-service internal developer AI platform.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to engineers.
