Job summary

Bank of America is seeking a Senior Engineer – AI-Enabled Development and Observability to design, build, test, and operate end-to-end AI-enabled monitoring solutions within a regulated banking environment.

The role is an elite individual contributor, delivering production-grade systems from concept to runtime, leveraging OpenAI and Anthropic for faster delivery, better quality, and improved operational effectiveness.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering, platform engineering, or SRE roles within large-scale environments.
• Strong proficiency in Python, Java, Go, with production code experience.
• Solid fundamentals: API design, data structures, testing, debugging.
• Experience with AI-assisted development and LLMs.
• Hands-on with vector databases and semantic search (Weaviate, Pinecone).
• Proven ability to produce reliable JSON, function calls, and tool use.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and operate monitoring and observability solutions for distributed systems and AI-enabled platforms.
• Leverage AI platforms such as OpenAI and Anthropic to accelerate development and documentation.
• Architect and implement agentic AI workflows, production RAG systems, and AI-specific observability.
• Build AI evaluation pipelines, hallucination detection, guardrails, and Responsible AI controls.
• Own solutions end-to-end, ensuring security, compliance, reliability, and performance.
• Partner with SRE, production support, platform teams, and governance stakeholders
