Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC seeks a Senior AI Engineer I to own end-to-end AI capabilities within products, from design to production. You will work on retrieval, context assembly, model logic, API integrations, and monitoring, ensuring trustworthy AI with security controls and cost awareness.

The role emphasizes hands-on engineering, collaboration with partners, and maintaining capabilities built by delivery teams. Travel to field locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant software or AI/ML engineering experience, including end-to-end ownership.
• Depth in two or three capability areas; familiarity across the rest.
• Production experience with Python and SQL, cloud platform, VCS and CI/CD for AI products.
• Hands-on experience with orchestration, agent and retrieval frameworks.
• Experience building ML models for supervised and unsupervised problems.
• Experience with evaluation and regression testing for AI/ML systems.
• Knowledge of AI security and responsible AI controls.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, operate, and own end-to-end AI capabilities within a product or across multiple products; include retrieval, context assembly, model logic, API integration, and monitoring.
• Train and evaluate machine learning models for defined problems using operational data.
• Build retrieval and context pipelines against enterprise content using tagging and metadata strategies.
• Design and maintain evaluation for capabilities, including offline evals and regression tests.
• Own inference cost and latency in production and track cost per transaction.
• Implement human-in-the-loop and AI-specific security controls and tools.
