Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC is seeking a Principal AI Engineer to lead platform-level AI capabilities, setting engineering patterns and reference implementations used across squads and business units. You will own the technical design, build, and operation of shared AI services aligned with the platform roadmap.

The role requires deep expertise in enterprise-scale AI, with Python, CI/CD, and cloud deployment experience.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in CS, data science, STEM, or related field.
• Minimum 11 years of professional software or AI/ML engineering experience.
• Experience building and operating shared platform capabilities used by multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Integrate and operate shared AI platform capabilities across squads and business units.
• Define reference implementations for AI development and drive adoption.
• Operationalize responsible AI with evaluation and guardrail infrastructure.
• Deliver cost efficiency through instrumented per-product economics and platform design.
• Lead design reviews, coach senior engineers, and evolve platform standards.
• Ensure production readiness, reliability, and observability of AI services.
