Job summary

East West Bank is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to design, build, and operationalize enterprise-grade AI and Generative AI solutions across the bank. The role will start hands-on and then help establish AI engineering standards, governance, and a high-performing team.

You will partner with business, data, cybersecurity, risk, and legal teams to ensure regulatory, privacy, and risk controls are in place while delivering measurable impact and adoption across banking workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering/Data Science/AI/ML or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in software/AI engineering leadership and production AI delivery.
• Proven experience leading cross‑functional AI, data, automation initiatives.
• Strong hands‑on engineering background: Python, API design, microservices, cloud architecture.
• Deep experience with Azure ecosystem and enterprise integration patterns.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy enterprise AI and Generative AI applications for banking use cases.
• Architect LLM-enabled solutions including retrieval-augmented generation and vector search.
• Build production-grade services and APIs using Python and cloud platforms.
• Integrate AI into enterprise apps, workflows, and monitoring systems.
• Lead hiring, mentoring, and day-to-day technical leadership of AI engineers.
