Job summary

East West Bank is seeking a Senior AI Engineering leader to design, build, and operationalize enterprise-grade AI and Generative AI solutions across the Bank. This senior technical role will translate emerging AI capabilities into secure, scalable banking applications that improve operational efficiency, risk management, customer experience, and employee productivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related; practical experience.
• 10+ years in software/AI engineering or technology leadership with production AI.
• Proven leadership of AI, data, automation initiatives from strategy to production.
• Hands-on in Python, API design, microservices, cloud, and CI/CD.
• Deep Azure experience: Azure OpenAI, Azure ML, Databricks, ADLS.
• Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, vector stores.
• Regulated industry experience with compliance and risk understanding.
• Strong executive communication and mentorship abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy enterprise AI and Generative AI applications for banking use cases.
• Architect LLM-enabled solutions including retrieval-augmented generation and agentic workflows.
• Build production-grade services and APIs using Python, FastAPI/Flask, Azure OpenAI, and Databricks.
• Integrate AI into enterprise apps, workflows, knowledge platforms, automation, and analytics.
• Establish CI/CD, testing, model evaluation, observability, and security controls.
• Collaborate with business, data, cybersecurity, risk, compliance, legal, and vendors.
• Prototype with stakeholders, turn pilots into scalable implementations, measure adoption.
