Job summary

Capital One is hiring an AI Engineer 4 to lead development of AI/ML products and scalable AI infrastructure. You will design, train, and deploy foundation models, agents, and multi-agent workflows, while optimizing performance, cost, and latency.

Collaborate with engineers, researchers, and product managers to deliver responsible AI across banking platforms. You will leverage AWS, HuggingFace, PyTorch, and VectorDBs to build production-grade AI services with a strong focus on observability,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in CS/AI/EE/CE with relevant AI/ML work
• At least 4 years of AI/ML algorithm development experience

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional team to deliver AI-powered products
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components
• Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI tech like AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs
• Invent model optimization techniques to improve performance, cost, latency
• Contribute to technical vision and long-term AI system roadmap
• Own end-to-end architecture for complex AI systems with observability and ethics
• Define and maintain SLOs for AI reliability (latency, uptime, drift)
• Collaborate with infra to optimize GPU/TPU utilization
• Lead cross-functional reviews for new AI deployments ensuring security and governance
• Mentor Associates on scalable design and production translation
