Job summary

Capital One is seeking an AI Engineer 4 to join Gen AI Platform Services: Agentic AI. You will partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products, design and deploy AI components, optimize performance, and ensure governance and security across production systems.

The role emphasizes scalable architectures, model optimization, and responsible AI practices, with opportunity to work across US locations including NY, SF, McLean, Cambridge, and San Jose.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in CS/AI/EE or related field with 4+ years of AI/ML development experience, or Master's with 2+ years of experience.
• 4+ years of programming in Python, Go, Scala, CUDA, or Java.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components including model training, inference, agents and workflows.
• Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI tech (AWS, HuggingFace, PyTorch, VectorDBs).
• Optimize performance, cost, latency, and throughput of large-scale AI systems.
• Define and maintain SLIs/SLOs for AI reliability and governance.
• Collaborate with infra to optimize GPU/TPU utilization and model inference pipelines.
• Lead cross-functional reviews for new AI deployments; ensure security and compliance.
