Job summary

Thomson Reuters is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to architect and deliver complex AI agent systems end-to-end, integrating multi-component pipelines and tool integrations with modern LLM APIs.

You will own production AI systems, contribute to observability, and drive quality through progressive delivery practices while mentoring engineers on AI-native, agentic development. A fast-moving, senior-heavy team offers high autonomy and impact.

Qualifications

• Strong experience architecting and shipping production software systems, including hands-on experience building AI/LLM-powered products or agentic systems.
• Direct experience building with modern LLM APIs, agent frameworks/SDKs, or agent-to-tool integration protocols.
• Experience owning complex technical projects end-to-end, from design through production delivery.
• Strong backend engineering fundamentals, including distributed systems design, service architecture, and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with production reliability and observability practices: monitoring, evaluation pipelines, incident response, and quality regression detection.
• Ability to mentor other engineers and contribute to a strong technical culture.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver complex AI agent systems end-to-end, including multi-component pipelines, tool integrations, and multi-step reasoning.
• Build production AI agent systems on top of modern LLM APIs, agent SDKs, and orchestration/runtime infrastructure.
• Contribute to agent observability and evaluation practices to catch regressions before customers see them.
• Adopt progressive delivery practices, like feature-flagged rollout and early quality signals.
• Participate in RFCs/ADRs and cross-cutting design reviews to ensure coherent system architecture.
• Mentor engineers and promote AI-native, agentic development practices.
• Collaborate with product and engineering peers to translate requirements into solid designs.
